Minerva Cayman announces TBBI collaboration

Minerva Private butler setting a formal dinner table

Minerva Cayman is pleased to announce its collaboration with The British Butler Institute, the renowned international school for butler administrators and household managers.

This is an important milestone for both organisations. Through arrangements to share materials, Minerva Cayman will be able to deliver training in the British household style within the Caribbean region, enhancing the understanding of protocol and best practice in household management and front of house services.

Set to launch formally in May, the Minerva Academy will offer practical courses covering a range of topics such as general house cleaning, table service, care of silver and packing suitcases.

The Academy will also offer a separate line of courses for a different audience. Our courses in social skills and etiquette enable students to feel confident in social and professional settings, refreshing table manners, classifying the dress codes which apply in different contexts and circumstances, all the way to what topics of conversation to avoid when having tea with the vicar, the governor, the boss or the future mother-in-law.

Courses can also support clients facing specific situations such as interviews or social/public events with their own particular protocol or conventions. Minerva courses are designed to benefit people from all walks of life, from ordinary domestic helpers to professionals and can be tailored to address any upcoming private or professional needs.

Emé de Vries, Managing Director of Minerva Cayman, said:  “We will have the support of The British Butler Institute, a world leader in residential staff training and an expert in the British traditional style, which is the gold standard for private residences and embassies worldwide. As a British Overseas Territory, Cayman should reflect those traditions and yet deliver them with a modern, Caribbean twist. We don’t want ‘stiff’ and we don’t want ‘slouch’. Our focus is on enabling delivery of a truly modern, Caribbean style of service which complements our clients’ surroundings: elegant and efficient, yet comfortable, relaxed and friendly.”
